According to ZDNet Taiwan, Microsoft is set release Windows Mobile 7 to OEMs for testing in Q1 2010, with a launch date set for Q3 2010, a year after the launch of Windows Mobile 6.5.
The so-called “Maldives” program is set to collect feedback from OEMs, and ZDNet reports Microsoft is stepping up development in the face of declining market share.
If the OS is released to OEMs it is highly likely the first leaks will also occur early next year, just like with Windows Mobile 6.5, which means all those HTC HD2’s may very soon be running Microsoft’s latest release also.

Normally people wait until April 1 to pull of such an hilarious jest, but Facebook just couldn’t wait. Facebook announced today its new privacy policy that, according some critics, is more an “anti-privacy” policy. April fools!
Using the guise of shielding more of your personal information, and giving you more control over the information you enter into Facebook, it turns out that Facebook is actually making it harder, if not impossible, to shield your personal information, and is making more of that information available to others–whether you like it or not.

The new feature will also include updates from Twitter and the social networks of MySpace and Facebook.
“Information is being created at a pace I have never seen before and in this environment, seconds matter,” said Google fellow Amit Singhal.

Sony has shown off a new single-lens camera able to capture 3D images.
The majority of existing 3D set-ups use two-camera systems to record images tailored specifically for the left and right eye of the viewer.
The new camera takes a single image that is split by mirrors and recorded on two sensors, resulting in a “smoother” picture, according to Sony.
The prototype camera will be unveiled at next week’s Ceatec electronics show in Tokyo, Japan.
Viewers will be able to watch the 3D images using special polarised glasses. Without them, they will just see normal 2D television, according to the firm.
The firm said the camera, which is able to capture images very quickly, is especially suited to sporting events.
