Male’ has always been the center of all development in the country. This has led many people from the islands to migrate to Male’, resulting in an increase in the population of the island. The concept of dividing land among inheritors has also resulted in families acquiring smaller plots of land/houses. Since the government had no sound policy to manage land in Male’, we are now seeing houses and rooms so small that it would be considered living in “kuda golhi” (small cell)
